[GS1 Germany] Insgesamt 17 Projektteilnehmer haben sich bereit erklärt mit 20 verschiedenen Lagerstandorten (sowohl Deutschland als auch Österreich) die Palettentausch-App mehr als zwei Wochen lang auf den Prüfstand zu stellen. Nun ist es an der Zeit die Erfahrungen und Erkenntnisse der Anwender zu bewerten und zu teilen.

[SAP] Blockchain implies a shift from explicit trust in individual business partners to implicit trust in mathematics. However, participants in private networks must be able to rely on the identities of all other stakeholders.

[SAP] Blockchain heißt, vom expliziten Vertrauen in einzelne Geschäftspartner zum impliziten Vertrauen in Mathematik überzugehen. Doch in privaten Netzwerken müssen sich die Teilnehmer auf die Identitäten aller anderen Akteure verlassen können.

[SAP] The million-dollar question: How much blockchain does a single use case require? This was just one of the questions that project participants debated before, during and after the practical test. Different technological approaches could be adopted if the project were to continue and go live.

[SAP] Nach einem erfolgreichen Pilotprojekt stellt sich häufig schnell die Frage: Kann man die im Projekt erarbeiteten Ergebnisse direkt in einem produktiven Folgeprojekt wiederverwenden? Wir wollen hier anders vorgehen und zunächst schauen, welche Fragestellungen der Pilot aufgeworfen, unterstützt oder zerstreut hat. Dieser Blog basiert noch nicht auf abgestimmten Bewertungen zwischen allen Projektteilnehmern, sondern spiegelt eine subjektive Sicht des Projektteams bei SAP wider.

[SAP] Blockchain projects are springing up like mushrooms. However, there has never been a real, decentralised, private blockchain network in practice. Until the project participants went ahead and created one. We report on the technology used and the architecture of the pilot solution, and provide insights into the findings of the practical test.

[SAP] In dem von GS1 Germany ins Leben gerufenen Pilotprojekt soll es primär um die Erprobung der Blockchain-Technologie am Beispiel des standardisierten Palettenscheins gehen. Doch was verbirgt sich hinter der hier angewandten Blockchain-Technologie und natürlich: Wie gut hat alles funktioniert?

[GS1 Germany] (GS1) standards range from pallet identification to data exchange in the blockchain. Which key standards did project participants agree upon? How have they actually been integrated in the blockchain solution? What data do blockchain transactions contain? And how can it be used to feed data into the pallet accounts of participating exchange partners?

[GS1 Germany] Von der Palettenidentifikation bis zum Datenaustausch in der Blockchain: Auf welche wesentlichen Standards haben sich die Projektteilnehmer geeinigt? Wie wurden sie in der Blockchain-Lösung konkret eingesetzt? Aus welchen Daten bestanden die Blockchain-Transaktionen? Und wie können sie genutzt werden, um die Palettenkonten der beteiligten Tauschpartner mit Daten zu versorgen?

[PwC] A consortium blockchain network must agree on rules from the outset. A trivial question is ‘Who can decide what, and when?’ A somewhat harder issue is ‘How should decisions be made?’ This could be, for example, a ‘no-code’ or ‘no-people’ decision, i.e. people and committees, versus smart contracts. Which data should be visible to whom? What is allowed, what is not allowed and what do people want? There are many questions and a lot of unknown territory. There’s no point searching for an example of best practice here.
